Embroidery

I love doing embroidery, sewing etc... I believe these kind of things are worthwhile and the skill can come in handy and is good to learn. Last blog post I said that I am going to embroider a quilt top but at the time didn't know what theme I was going to use. I am planning on doing a quilt square with a design, something that has to do with a nation that I am from, I am part Dutch so one quilt square will have a Dutch theme, such as a windmill or wooden shoes, you get the idea. I am hoping to be able to design what ever design I use, however I would love to have some ideas for the different nations. I requested some embroider books from the library as I am still trying to learn embroidery.

This is from the "Silk Ribbon Embroidery Chinese Style" This is one of the projects.

I think it is so Amazing what you can do with embroidery.

"Victorian Canvaswork" looks interesting, some of the designs are just so pretty.

"Red Work Embellished" is my least favorite out of all the embroidery books I have, however it is still packed with lots of information.

This book is so wonderful, one of my favorites.

Not only does it have directions, but it has pictures to go along with the step by step directions.

This book is mainly filled with transfer designs, and is one that I will highly recommend.

This is one that reminds me of Holland.

This was my first embroidery project, I think I did it last year.

Another embroidery project that I plan on doing is a Dutch theme kitchen set, it will include a table runner, napkins, potholders, and dish towels.

So this is what I have been up to these days.

Shalom,
Esther
